INEDyTO 3

INEDyTO 3 aims to carry out a systematic follow-up and a bioethical evaluation of end-of-life practices in Spain. The project monitors the implementation of Organic Law 3/2021 on the Regulation of Euthanasia (LORE) in the broader context of end-of-life care, identifying areas for improvement and proposing training strategies and best practice guidelines.

The project combines empirical research and normative analysis to:

  • Examine, using internationally validated social epidemiology instruments adapted to the Spanish context, the incidence and circumstances of different end-of-life practices.
  • Analyze the knowledge and social perception of the quality of dying and clinical care in the final stage.
  • Evaluate the degree of compliance with current regulations and ethical recommendations regarding rights and guarantees.
  • Formulate improvement proposals aimed at strengthening the quality of care and social trust in health policies.

INEDyTO 3 articulates these objectives in four major lines of work and thirteen specific actions, which will lead to scientific results and recommendations with both academic and institutional impact.
