Meet us
The Chair is an academic space of excellence dedicated to research, training, and the transfer of knowledge in bioethics, with a strong international projection. It is composed of an interdisciplinary group formed by specialists in ethics, health sciences, law, social sciences, and public policies, committed to the rigorous and applied analysis of ethical challenges in the biomedical and healthcare fields.
Our identity is based on the development and consolidation of empirical bioethics, integrating conceptual research, normative analysis, and empirical evidence to contribute to ethically grounded decision-making in clinical, institutional, and regulatory contexts.
- Bioethics at the end of life, addressing issues related to clinical decision-making, autonomy, informed consent, organ donation, and public policies.
- Ethics of biomedical research, analyzing the normative, social, and regulatory challenges linked to clinical and translational research.
- Ethical consulting, providing training and advice to healthcare professionals, institutions, and ethics committees in managing conflicts and moral disagreements.
Our objective is to generate scientifically solid, socially relevant, and normatively robust knowledge, capable of influencing both the international academic debate and the design of public policies and best professional practices.
The CYBE Chair aspires to establish itself as an international reference in empirical bioethics, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration, dialogue between theory and practice, and real impact on improving healthcare and the ethical governance of research.
